living creatures. These were the cherubim. We have already seen them at the gate of Eden and in the Tabernacle and the Temple, and they reappear in the vision of the Apocalypse. They are special symbols of the Lord Jesus Christ and God’s infinite attributes and mighty workings through Him. The faces of the lion, the ox, the eagle and the man represent the sovereignty, the power, the intelligence and the love which guide all the government of God and the whole plan of redemption which He is working
